Act II Ranch
A Central Texas family ranch
The Act II is located in Mt. Calm, TX, just a few miles outside of Waco. The ranch is in the rich soil of the backland prairie, with rolling hills, meadows of native grasses, prickly pear and mesquite, and wooded bottomlands of old growth elms and seasonal creeks.

The ranch has been in the family for at least four generations, with our sons being the fifth. We are blessed to be the stewards of it today, and hope to leave it to the next generation better than we found it.
Our Story
The Simmons Family
Central Texas has always been home for Cameron and Elizabeth Simmons. Elizabeth grew up on the ranch, while Cameron grew up not far away in Stephenville, TX. They met and married at Baylor University in nearby Waco, raised their sons Jacob and Ben, and after many years in the Austin and Houston areas, returned home to carry on the family enterprise in 2012.

The ranch name, Act II, pays homage to Elizabeth's background in acting as well as marking the second season of life for the family at the ranch. In keeping with that theme, our registered cattle are generally named after characters from the stage and screen.
